Now Walmart and I are hassling over a warranty issue ( 2 versus 3 years )
Here is the text of my online review.....

I was told when I purchased the 2 year coverage that it began when the manufacturer's coverage ended.  The manufacturer warrants 1 year so I expected year 2 and 3 to be covered by Walmart.  Now I am being told this is not true.  Worse yet is that Walmart is not responding to my emails.  I will have to trudge into Walmart and waste more time.

I sent the following message to Walmart and have not received an acknowledgement.
#1    I never choose to use the phone and wait on hold forever ... or get transferred many times.  I always want to use an online option ... that is easy to find , knows who I am ( I have a logon account that I used ).

#2  Why doesn't *this* feedback form use my account information ?

#3  If I go to Customer Service at a store, I want them to use my online account to sort out problems , issue refunds , reorder stuff.  Customer Service is too slow.  Some of it can be done while I am waiting in line using WiFi.

#4  It would be great to set up my visit to *online pickup* ahead of time so that I can just go to customer service and grab my item.  *Online Pickup* is often a "ghost town" .... nobody there.

I have not received any response from Walmart other than promotional emails suggesting I spend more money at Walmart..  Truly parts of their customer service are simply awful.  

I bought a hard drive from Walmart and they promised free shipping via Fedex.  Then I learned that the last leg of the delivery was via USPS.  As you know may know, USPS is not the brightest light bulb in town.  My package disappeared into limbo for several days and then luckily re-emerged at my door.  I used to love the idea of buying online from Walmart.  But I have not been pleased the last few times.

Sheldon Richman has said some great things about the situation regarding the Ukraine.

One is constantly reminded by events of how childish political leaders are.  Putin in Russia and various American politicians act like the Ukraine is some playground and the inhabitants are plastic legos ( TM ) that can be tossed around , set on fire and then be buried.

There are some very positive things that the USG and the POTUS can do.

#1   Start shutting down NATO.  This will reduce tensions and have the added benefit of reducing government waste ( $$$ ).

#2  Invite Ukrainian entrepreneurs to a big love fest in various US cities.  Drop travel restrictions.  ( Do NOT have USG spend $$$ )  Start eliminating barriers to doing business with US companies. ( For everyone , not just Ukrainians )

#3  Invite Putin and Russian entrepreneurs to the love fest as well.  Apologize for past insults to Russia.

#4  Invite the world's entrepreneurs to the love fest.

Possible scam from GeekSquad

I recently received a solicitation from *The GeekSquad* inviting me to renew coverage on a computer that GeekSquad never covered in the first place.  This looks like a thinly disguised attempt to trick an owner into *renewing* coverage they never had.  It is one thing to offer a service to a prospective customer.  It is unethical to pretend there is already a relationship.  In addition, the fine print suggests you will not be getting the coverage a reasonable person would expect.

Voting supports Mob Rule

 All of the time... I hear .... vote ... vote .... vote ... it is a godly thing ... It is the duty of an informed citizen..  No ... No .... No .....  Voting is none of these things. 

#1   Voting is meaningless ....  ( especially at the Federal level)  ... most of the time a single vote has no impact on the results.  A voter does not know what the results of a vote will mean.  Politicians ( especially the POTUS ) twist in the wind and lie about their future agendas.  Bureaucrats and regulators do as they please and ignore the voters.  Judges interpret laws and the Constitution as they wish.  They come up with very imaginative interpretations.

#2  Most voters are trying to game the government system.  They hope to get *stuff* from the government that exceeds what they pay in taxes , fees and inconvenience.  They don't care to think about who is being punished for them to get their *goodies*

If you love freedom , individual actualization , creativity , productive living ......   then work to eliminate the government , the parasites , the pirates , the control freaks, the leeches, the killers, the takers of prisoners, the slavelords.  All manner of slimy behaviour is encouraged by the government.  And thus, all manner of slime supports the government.

My Mother listens to me politely when I rage about the state.... about state sponsored killing and theft via taxes and the curtailment of freedom.  And I talk about how the brightest , most productive people are handcuffed by regulations and ground into the dirt by small-minded bureaucrats.

And I know what she is thinking ...... " what a waste of time and energy ....  why don't you chill out, Gus.  I get a Social Security check and the police have always been nice to me.  What is your beef... really ?  You pay your dues and then the government takes care of you .... "

So today she calls me.  Comcast has sent her 7 cease and desist emails.  She is accused of violating the Digital Millennium Act.  Someone she does not know has used bit-torrent to send her 7 baby pictures.  These pictures are for a friend to look at.  She does not know who the baby is, does not know the parents , does not know what bit-torrent is, .......  The pictures included an MP3 song called "That's My Kid" .... Now ComCast is threatening to pull her digital plug.

So I am supposed to fix this for her....  Take care of something she now thinks is *unfair*.  Oh yes ..... I am grumpy today.

I went over to Mom's today.  Someone had installed bitTorrent on her MacIntosh back in August of 2013.  Someone had turned on the wireless with no protection.  I turned off Torrent and defeated auto-start.  I turned off the wireless.  Now I realize I should have checked if anyone had turned on remote control of the the  Mac.  Duh......  Now I have a project for Friday.

My Zeus !   .... i am awaiting more details .... when I was in High School  40+ years ago .... I and my friend made pipe bombs & rockets and  pellet gun machine pistols. He was a genius.  We made them because we had high IQs and thought it was fun.  We were sort of careful.  Yes, we were assholes.  We were not terrorists.  The devices were not WMDs. Yes, we smoked marijuana.  not much.  We drank beer.  not much.   It is often a matter of perspective.

Lucky for us it was 40 years ago.  Today if we did this , we would be tracked down ( the bombs made lots of noise and big holes ) and arrested.  The bomb squad would butt slap each other. We would be put in a mental institution.  The mayor would blow hot air.    What a crock.

I feel really sorry for Vlad.... he is on a kangaroo railroad to hell.  But what the hell.... he is a Russian.

According to a criminal complaint, police found one pound of atomized magnesium and one pound of Chinese potassium perchlorate along with a package labeled potassium nitrate powder. They also found fuses and several containers of compressed air.

When asked what he was going to do with two devices that were found with exposed fuses, Miftakhov said "he was going to blow things up," the complaint alleges.

Miftakhov later said he only intended to set devices off in a field and wasn't going to blow anything up, the document says.

      Very similar to what my friend and I did many years ago.

Authorities found five marijuana seedlings and a grow light, the complaint says.

2014m01d28 update   What I fear
I can imagine the unpleasant existence that VM is experiencing in jail.  Some jails are annoying and some are hell-holes.  I wonder how well VM's appointed attorney is representing him.  I also fear that drugs may be forced on VM..... and even worse he gets routed to a mental facility where it is in their vested interest to hold him forever.   Recently I read about a kid around ten years old who was being mis-diagnosed with ASD who now may graduate from college at age 14. ==>  http://ow.ly/t3dIP
