There are number of steps to Do It Yourself suicide.
#1 Be sure it is what you want to do
Don't do it to punish other people.... they will soon be happy again
If you are committing suicide to *get even* .... don't bother... you won't
#2 Make sure you don't make a mess......
Don't shoot or stab other people... don't crash a car ...
Don't do it inside a home or business
Wear lots of clothes to absorb the resultant leakage
#3 Choose a method that suits your purposes .....
Is it important that it look like an accident ? ( life insurance )
Must it be dramatic ?
How much of a cheapskate are you ?
Do you have competent help ?
Does it have to be really simple ?
Methods
Jumping
Pros: cheap , very simple , can look like an accident , no help required , little pain
Cons: you might survive
Hypothermia
Pros: simple , can look like an accident , no help required , little pain
Cons: you might survive
Volcano
Pros: very simple , can look like an accident , no help required
Cons: you might survive , it hurts like hell
Taking the Gas
Pros: can look like an accident , no help required , no pain
Cons: Costs a few hundred dollars , works better with help
A Gun
Cons: You might survive , messy , no accident , tacky
My favorite is Taking the Gas
First you have to decide whether you want it to look like an accident. If you do.... getting assistance is a good idea. The assistant will not have to help kill you... just drag any incriminating evidence away.
Get a large tank of Nitrogen ( best ) or helium ( easier ) or hydrogen ( why? ) . [ Don't charge the gas on your credit card ]. Connect the tank to a hose that leads to a plastic bag large enough to comfortably enclose your head. Put the bag over your head and fasten it loosely at your neck. Turn on the gas at a rate that starts to slowly inflate the bag. Let the excess gas escape at the neck of the bag. The gas will displace the oxygen and CO2 in the bag. In less than 10 minutes you will fall asleep. Keep the gas going for at least 30 minutes.

When Iran released pictures of a new stealth fighter called the 'Qaher 313', they were almost immediately debunked as either a full-scale mockup or completely photoshopped images.
