this is brilliant and silly .... just as silly as the USG posturing

The sanctions mentioned below are a big yuck-fest since they affect no one and are so hypocritical.   Just another silly day in the lives of some politicians.... I can't tell them apart ..... can you ?

Iran hits Rumsfeld, others, with sanctions

TEHRAN, May 25 (UPI) -- Iranian lawmakers announced Wednesday they slapped 26 U.S. officials, including Donald Rumsfeld, with unspecified sanctions for alleged human rights violations.
The Iranian Parliament rolled out a long list of present and former U.S. officials ranging from Rumsfeld, a former secretary of defense, to U.S. Army Gen. Ray Odierno, one of the top commanders of U.S. forces in Iraq, who were hit with sanctions.
Others on the list published by state-run broadcaster Press TV include former FBI chief Thomas Pickard, whom Iran blames for the deaths of 80 Branch Davidians in a 1993 raid in Waco, Texas. Geoffrey Miller, the commander of the U.S. Navy detention facility at Guantanamo Bay from 2002-07, is also on the Iranian sanctions list.
The list comes as Washington listed seven companies that violated U.S. law for supporting Iran's energy sector.
Washington accuses Tehran of working on the technology needed to develop a nuclear weapon program. The Islamic republic is also accused of undermining the development of its neighbors by meddling in their political affairs.
Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced during the weekend that 30 people were arrested for allegedly working with the CIA. Tehran said it was reviewing the sanctions list earlier this week.

Most poverty and suffering is caused by governments

Take a look at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-13784487

"All of the young men in these camps are just sitting there and they are legally prevented from doing anything," says Ms Janah. "I can only imagine how frustrating that is."

The above is a quote from someone who trying to provide low paying ( but great money for refugees ) computer jobs for refugees.  As is so often the case,  government officials are preventing refugees from improving their lot.

This is one of the many reasons why I hate and fear government .... especially the one that oppresses me directly.... the USG  .... and of course the Denver building department.
